Electronically Record Fire Door Checks
When Fire door monitor is installed in your building, magnetic catches are installed onto each door – allowing it to be opened only for a maximum specified time before sending an SMS and email alert to the nominated fire officer to visit the door and close it. Full reporting tools are available, and it is possible to see which doors are opened and for how long. This means that even if the nominated fire officer is not on site, some of the duties under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order: 2005 or any other national standards can be fulfilled.
How Do I Record Fire Door Inspections Electronically?
Not only does Fire door monitor tell you when doors are left open, it also monitors and stores records of mandatory inspections that are carried out under The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 BS 9999 which stipulates that checks must be carried out on fire doors every six months. It places legal responsibility on the responsible person (which is the owner or managing director no-one is formally delegated the responsibility) to carry out inspections and ensure that fire doors are kept closed and are in a serviceable condition.
