WhatIsADatafeed

What is a datafeed

A datafeed is a term usually used by affiliate networks or affiliate marketers to describe the database of products provided by merchants to affiliate marketers. It can, however, be any online source of data, be that product data, share prices, weather information, traffic information, news feeds or any other data.

A datafeed can come in many different formats, a downloadable file or a URL feed. The formats of these differ, but generally they are CSV, Pipe separated, tab separated, RSS, XML or SQL source. A datafeed can be used in many different ways; it provides flexibility to the developer or marketer to us in the way that best suits them.

The CSV datafeed import plugin for Wordpress utilizes the power of these datafeeds and combines this with the flexibility of Wordpress to provide you with a very powerful combination.

Using it you can easily create huge, professional sites literally in a matter of minutes. In addition to this the plugin can automatically update the website when there is new data available. Meaning that maintenance is no-longer a manual laborious process, but again a matter of minutes to update thousands of products or items.
